Why CAR Testing?

  • During a normal cortisol awakening response, cortisol levels should increase by 50% within the first 30 minutes of waking and progressively decrease throughout the day.
  • This test includes six saliva samples to assess the full diurnal cortisol curve, including samples at waking, 30 minutes after waking, 60 minutes after, noon, evening, and night.
